Hello! My name is Alex Ernst and I’m the face behind Ernst Leather & Wood. I have always been into woodworking ever since I can remember following my dad around his shop. I got into leather work a few years ago when I couldn’t find a dog collar that I liked and that would be strong enough to hold back my 130 lb Cane Corso “Teddy” who is a big suck. So I did some research and decided to make my own and so began my journey into leather goods. 

In 2018 I decided to mesh the two together and open my own shop Ernst Leather & Wood. I have grown from that original dog collar and leash into making various items such as wallets, key fobs, Dopp bags and lady’s tote bags, purses and some specialty items. In my wood shop I make custom wooden signs, beer bottle caddies and a number of other specialty items too many to list. 

In 2019 I added a Laser engraver into the mix, to offer custom laser engraving to some of my products as well as special custom orders.

All of my products are hand made. I hand stitch all my leather goods, yes it takes a little bit longer but I feel this traditional way is stronger and adds a uniqueness to each item.
